Mindfulness Meditation

In order to lead a more enlightened life, it is important first of all to understand how the human mind works. We are often unknown prisoners of our minds, swept by whatever thoughts we are having at the moment. We give our thoughts too much power.

Lost in regretting our past, anticipated about the future we miss out on experiencing the present moment, where all the promise and true joy lie.

Mindfulness is used by psychologist, teachers, sport coaches and workplace consultants to help people develop skills to enhance presence of here and now.

Mindfulness lead to greater presence, greater presence leads to enhanced peace of mind, enhanced peace of mind leads to more happiness and more happiness leads to greater physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well being.

STEPS -

  • Take a few deep breaths . Inhaling and deeply exhaling slowly.
  • Allow yourself to let go of any stress you've been feeling.
  • Let go of any tension on your jaw.
  • Let go of any tension on your shoulders.
  • Simply bring your awareness to what it feels to breath right now.
  • Notice the physical sensation of breathing.
  • Experience the inhale and the exhale in between.
  • Place your attention on your breath.
  • Your mind will wander, notice when it does, and simply bring your awareness back.
  • Observe each breath as though its the first breath you have taken.
  • Pay attention to this present moment.
  • Simply notice what it feels like to breath in the present moment.
  • Allow yourself to explore this moment.
  • Allow your breath to open the doorway to this moment.
  • Notice how you feel in your body, notice and experience what it feels like in your body to be present.
  • Offer yourself a little gratitude to be present.
  • Be gentle and peaceful.

    -Blessings.

Do not try to overcome huge and monstrous fears in your mind all at once; ease into the idea of facing and overcoming them, and reach out for help at the point in which you feel you are past your limit in order to find the footing y...

Don't hold yourself to the standard that you must take giant steps in order to be successful, take your journey step by step, from going to the grocery by yourself to driving a car after not getting behind the wheel for a couple of years, or even calling a friend you have'nt talked to in a while, it is often the little steps that add up to a great amount in the end, and that ultimately have the most impact upon your journey in the right direction. Don't believe that you have failed or done something wrong if your journey is taking time. Every journey moves a...
