This is your permission to disobey your mental illness

This is your permission to disobey your mental illness.

This is your permission to look your disorder in the face, to recognize that lies it has told you, and to fight back against its influence.
No matter how greatly your disorder/ illness has weighed upon your life.

You are the one ultimately in control and you have the power to create a positive impact and change in your favour, to recognize that your illness does not define your presence upon this planet, and to decide that you are worth seeking help, recovery and healing one day at a time.

Do not allow your illness to be in charge of your life, take the steps necessary to find the strength within yourself to fight back against its power, reach out for help when you feel as if though you cannot handle your struggles on your own, and give yourself the ability to be open with those who care for and support you the most.

Don't give your illness permission to boss you around and control the important areas of your life, fight back, find footholds in control, and make little changes each day in order to work against it, from driving yourself to work to sleeping an extra hour to eating an afternoon snack, till you are able to find the strength and control you need to move into the stages of recovery.

Allow yourself to say no to your illness, you have permission to call your fear a liar , to fight back against voices of self doubt and hatred with love and support from others and yourself, and to decide that you are worth more than the illness you are currently working to overcome.

Your illness does not define your life
.

Only you define your life, and only you have the control, strength, power and influence to create a beneficial impact  within your life, take the steps you need in order to fight the fear of your illness, recognize the presence of power and control that you contain, and continue to work forward in progress and overcoming, surrounded by those who care for and support you, until you are able to reach and get through recovery.

-Blessings and Love.

Embrace Your Journey

Embrace  your  journey .  You are'nt given the journey by accident or by chance. This is YOUR journey. Not your friend's journey, not your family's journey, not the journey of the last person you dated or your father or your mother's journey This is 100% your journey, crafted specifically for you and its time to embrace it, validate and honor every bit of your journey, both what's behind you and what's ahead day by day. This journey is not mistake and it is not by chance that you are given this journey ; this is your journey, singular and irreplaceable, and you were meant to follow this path, learn and grow from every experience along the way, and fight through every battle while celebrating every victory , one step at a time.  This journey doesn't belong to those around you, only you can have ownership over this journey and only you are in charge of where this journey takes you and how it shapes the person you are becoming with every battle and step along...

Happiness is Here and Now !

A few ways to practice mindfulness- Choose one of your five senses and focus on it wholly. Perhaps you are slowing down to really taste your food,  observing the smell of many flowers in your garden, or watching the sunrise/set without allowing your mind to wander. Close your eyes (or fix your gaze on an non moving object) and bring your focus to your breath. Inhale and Exhale . Focus on the sensations in your body, and allow wandering thoughts to visit and pass on as you bring your focus back to your breath. If you find it helpful, you can also add a mantra to your breath, such as "Breathe in peace, Exhale chaos." or " breathe in 'I acknowledge' (whatever emotion is at the forefront of your mind), exhale 'I care for' (whatever emotion is on the forefront of your mind.) Run your hands under cold water or hold ice cubes until they melt and focus on the sensation of how it makes your hands feel. One should mindfully participate in an...

If You Are A Little Better Than You Were Yesterday Then That's Enough

Today if you are a little better than you were yesterday, then that's enough. Never believe that you must solve all of your problems at once, that you must be completely recover in a short time or that you are wrong of flawed for continuing to struggle- take small steps each day in the right direction, for the active effort of moving in the right direction is enough to create a gradual impact, one step at a time. Don't hold yourself to the standard that you must take giant steps in order to be successful, take your journey step by step, from going to the grocery by yourself to driving a car after not getting behind the wheel for a couple of years, or even calling a friend you have'nt talked to in a while, it is often the little steps that add up to a great amount in the end, and that ultimately have the most impact upon your journey in the right direction. Don't believe that you have failed or done something wrong if your journey is taking time. Every journey moves a...
